When I was a little Martin, my big brother gave me a mixed tape from the a called DJ Lenny Rescue (Bot right). It was a mixtape made for just me, with a lot of Prodigy, Aphex twin and tons of other break-beat artists. I listened to this tape about a million times, breaking two or three portable cassette players.

Growing up I later learned the fundamentals of DJ’ing and music production from Lenny Rescue and Grovskopa (top left). In my teen (bottom) years I made music and worked a lot with radio production. I had my moment in the spotlight when I got to DJ at some parties

I chose to persue an academic career, and I stopped belonging to any music community at all. It was like killing a part of my soul. Needless to say, I’m back to try to get back into the feeling of how it is to really create.

Artists that make me motivated to do music are many:

Grovskopa , The Chemical Brothers, Moby, Fat boy Slim, The Prodigy, DJ Shadow, Stockholm Teddybears, DJ Krush, Gorillaz, RJD2, VNV Nation, Four Tet …

My “thing” is that when I hear a song I like or love, I tend to save it and spam from my speakers it for weeks. It’s rare that a song has that impact on me, but I have a few tracks I just never want to leave behind. And that’s my source of inspiration to make music. My goal is to make music that I constantly hear in my head, and has the ability to “touch” other people. I think I have a long way to go. But this is only the start.

Know that I’ve taken a vow to uphold the soul he tried to glow as in his shell in this life. As I will miss him for the rest of my life, I will try to make him proud. I will try to make him remember us, now that hes one with the universe. I will make the sound that brings me close to what he always wanted me to be. A man that can express his talents. For my big brother.

For Bence.
